Just been helping my lad move into his new gaff, he got a swap from North Yorks to Aycliffe in Kent to be near the rest of us. No heating, power in kitchen not working, pump in wet room knackered! heating now sorted, and plumber and electrician coming within the next 6 hours. Like everything else it seems like some housing associations do not believe in pre planning prevents piss poor performance. But having said that he's lucky to have got the exchange so you got to be thankful for small mercies. And think there is many another poor bugger living on the streets without owt!

Most of it fixed Dave just the plumber didn't turn up to fix the shower pump, it's knackered. He's phoning up about it this morning, until then he can manage with a strip down wash!

You should dash to Brompton Barracks and plead as a veteran Engineer in poverty and get them to send a load of apprentices along for a project Bob! Be like that DIY SOS prog on the tellybox!
