Although it probably still applies somewhere, I thnk that was more relevant in WW1 and earlier wars Bob. Officers treating the men like peasants.

To this day, i still convert prices to £. s. d. My S&D always ask me what's thirty bob, when i whinge about the price of a bun or something.
