Watched a Doco on BBC 4 last night
Dave Tompkins was a petty thief who craved adventure. His career as an international mercenary began in Africa and took him all over the world - to Afghanistan, Croatia and later to Colombia, where he led a team commissioned to assassinate notorious Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar. He went out with Callan and Copland to Angola he was the explosives guy in the team. While laying some mines he was injured by one going off. Got casavact back to uk just before Callan executed some of his men. Peter McAleese featured. We had one guy in our squadron who was out there he told me that the only way he survived was to keep to SOP’s staying in the bush and no tracks/roads

Sometimes clag a few drops of Worcester sauce on it before shoving it under the grill!
I've gone back to butter Dave, the Ayathola's one for using Bertolli light , there is no real taste to it. If you want a good chip butty use butter not that shite!
Like they say Bob, "Everything in Moderation" duz thi a word o good!" 😋Â
We used butter when we were kids, and it never did us any harm, it was all down to these so called health experts telling us we were clogging our arteries up and condemning us to eating marg which we don't know what's in it.And it's not until years later like sacherin to replace sugar that it's not as healthy as they would have us believe.
I like my butter 😋Â
Read an article a while back about the Americans inventing marge and trialling it on patients in lunatic asylums to prove it was healthier than butter. They more or less force fed them with marge and another group with butter, and guess what, nearly all the marge scoffers died of heart disease etc while the butter scoffers remained healthy. The results were hidden for about 80 yrs until recently as the Yank government had invested so much in the development and manufacture of marge!
Probably full of trans fats, Pat, fullof HDl. I just know this term will skew the topic in another direction.Posted by: @patRead an article a while back about the Americans inventing marge and trialling it on patients in lunatic asylums to prove it was healthier than butter. Remember that horrible 'Dawn' and 'Echo' cooking margarine they used to have in the cookhouse in the 70's, fukkin' awful stuff, and the bread baked by the RAOC bakery in Germany that was stale when it came in. After complaints they started printing days of the week on the wrapper, so you got Monday bread on Monday, but it was still just as stale, so could've been baked 4 Mondays ago! 🙄Â
Old Keith King used to make me chuckle his favorite grub, a full plate of mash and half a loaf of bread from the Cookhouse. He used to make just mash spud butties with this lot, said it was the best grub ever!
A carb rich diet plan then! 😋Â
Eight loo-ads the neet befoor runnin the marathon, allow time fer shit breaks! 😆Â
