Good days out there Jack. wonder if the bloke who owns those socks is still looking for them? 😀Â
The banter is still there. (have to look that one up Bob)

I did scuba diving but Marchwood was some thing else. Scouse had a hole in his suite and could only stay down for 1 1/2 hours that didn't go down well with the DS in the end they told him he had done well. Not on this clip but he said the course had to retrieve heavy objects from the mud, it's all about keep calm
Â
Old and Bold theer Jack, "Scouse" obviously the one wi the tit fer tat on, are you the good lookin Adonis at the other side o the table?
I'm behind the camera Dave I like hearing what every one has to say. Plymouth 2 I make a brief appearance

😀
A few blokes from the Sqn including Don I believe did the old shallow water diving course at Marchwood they were telling me that the Mud run was part of their course, which also included walking out on a platform on one of those forts in the Solent and leaping off in diving kit they reckon you used to have to hold tight onto the suits collar ring if you didn't want a smack in the gob when you hit the water. Never did one myself, but was always interested to hear the tales of those who did! 😀Â

I can cofirm ALL of the above Bob. We did mud RUNS every day in a dry suit absolute fukkin murder, i'm omly glad my course was in Winter. We did jumps from various heights and can also confirm the whack on the chin from the neck ring. Mine came out altogether and the suit started to fill with icy water, fortunately i was only about 3/4ft from the dock and managed to grab the ladder and pull my self out. You also had to hang on to the Suit Inflation Unit.
Â
Glad I stuck to Muff Divin! 😋Â
Charlie sent me this YT vid about RN divers, it shows the very tower i jumped from when my meck rig came off and the fun we had getting into the dry suit.
