The stretch of floor in question is chipboard and has a small amount of movement, hence why they couldn't put the herringbone laminate down as the joints would open with any movement, but I reckon if I tack down a sheet of that 3mm ply over it for the vinyl to go on it should be even enough and take up the small movement. I would've left the carpet in place and accepted her moaning about me dragging dirt in over it, giving it a scrub every now and then, but needs must! 🙄 

Very much the same as felt roofing Bob, the deck fixed correctly, butt up joints and right number of fixings, all Ok but crap decking, wide joints and not enuff fixings means definite future leaks! 🙄 

Got a good wooden shed here with a felt roof, really well built, about 30' x 15' and been here for probably 40 yrs and no sign of the roof leaking yet, although there's a bit of rot at the base of the back wall and rats have chewed their way in at some time. It'll probably see me out I reckon, so no plans to replace it any time soon.

If it aint broke then don,t fix it Pat, saves a lot o fukkin about and at least Roland Rat enjoys the shelter when it,s pissin it down! 😆 

Poisoned Roland and his mates that were in the roof of the house when I first got here Dave, haven't seen any sign of them recently. I'm sure they'll return if I get away with sneaking a few chickens in as is my eventual plan, little known to TLO who hates the things! I just love the taste of the eggs, unlike the ones you buy that I'm suffering at the moment. Even 'free range' just means they still live in a shed with a hatch to go out if they wish, which very few do, so they never get sunlight or green grass to scoff which makes all the difference to taste and texture. An expensive way to get an egg after buying feed etc, but so worth it! 😋 

Rats allus a prob Pat specially wi the number o bird feeders the "Trouble" puts out, Sunflower Hearts mainly, loo-ads o Gold Finches but also Chaffinch, Green Finch and mi favourite, Bull Finches. Suppose Roland comes wi the territory but it duz keep the Bull Terriers and the cat summat ta do. 🤔 

Not many birds around my gaff except magpies and pigeons, but I think the neighbour's 3 cats that are always roaming around has something to do with that!

Right at the side of rhe cuds and woods ere Pat n get loo-ads o feathered freinds, twitchers paradise. When the dickie birds lie low a look out fer the Sparra Hawk on iz rounds, often stops ta neck watter outa the bird bath showin off iz herringbone birds nest n givin mi the evil eye. Buzzards also quite common in the sky n at neet Tawny Owls can drive thi crackers wi their screetchin! 😣 

Plenty of buzzards here as well Dave and had a couple of jays hopping around the garden when we first came, but apart from a single robin that hangs around, it's just magpies and pigeons. At the last gaffe I had a feeder just outside the window that was full of finches, tits, and yellowhammers as well as the acrobatic rat that used to evade almost every obstacle I put on it to hang from his tail while stealing the bird's grub. I think either the cats or the wailing from the gospel hall next door puts the birds off!  Might have to try a couple of feeders to bring them in I reckon. 

Saw a Red Kite up here the other day, the seagulls tried to gang up on it to protect their young, it didn't bother the kite he circled around for a bit and then flew off leaving the seagull screeching until it was out of their danger zone!

Saw loads of them on the way through Wales the other week, she just told me to keep my eyes on the road! 🙄 

The most stupid bird is the pheasant,they always seem to fly into your car windscreen or wing🙄👍

They just don't have the sense to take off from the middle of a field and gain height before crossing a road, waddle to the kerb, flap yer wings and just about reach bonnet height before the car hits you, stupid bastards! I've lost two windscreens to them over the years, always make sure the insurance covers windscreen replacement so it costs me 50 quid instead of several hundred! They have a death wish from the day they hatch, if you go into a room full of week old poults and clap your hands about 40% will drop dead on the spot, a lot of the rest will have drowned themselves in the water bowl or frozen to death rather than staying under the heat lamp. The gamekeeper usually has to sleep in there with them for the first 6 weeks or so if he wants any to survive at all!🙄 

Thi nk it,s brill spottin all the different feathered freinds tha seez at home or out in the woods n cuds. Not a twitcher by any means, aint got the patiance, but brill ta see summat tha dunt usually see when out n about, Goss Hawk one o mi favourites. 🤗 

Bloody sea chickens, arses like dustbins, never leave your car out round here unless you like white car's. Instant change of colour once they open their arse on top of it!
