There the Gen-Z

Who's legs are like lead

And they won't get out of bed

There a generation of shirkers

Not like the older workers

But I blame the state

For giving them everything on a plate

Because when we left school

We thought it was cool

To get a job

And earn a few bob

To pay our way

Not skiv every day

They blame us boomers all the time

But at least we had a spine

And worked for a living

Not just taking but giving

And we payed our way

Not grabbed every day.

Well Put Rab, hit the nail on the head there. I started work at fifteen, and was never on the dole. It's the way your brought up mate, I was always told you never get out for nowt unless you pinch it and that's not an option ! 👍

This might sound sexist but I look back on an era when women worked bloody hard bringing up kids and keeping house trying to make ends meet, and men went out to work to enable that to happen. So both parents were able to work together bringing up families large and small ! There were not a lot families in a position to afford luxuries such as cars, kids walked to school winter and summer and even in bad winters like 1947, schools were never closed. When you arrived at school you were inspected to ensure you were correctly attired and clean, and god help you if you weren't as the cane or strap awaited those who defaulted! Luxuries were being able to put a meal on the table as rationing was still in force until 1953 when sweets came off the ration. but for those struggling there was a community spirit were neighbours if the had enough would help those less fortunate.

Today, both parents work, kids sent to childminders and Nursery schools. Schools lack discipline, and teachers are in fear of abuse from pupils. When kids get home there is a baby sitter in charge, Mam and Dad have gone out socialising. Some parents are unable to make finances work because they have two cars, pay a mortgage on a property. And racked up a load of dept they can't afford to pay, and blame everybody else for their current situation because they have to go to a food bank! Sound familiar?

I read somewhere that some parents think it's the schools responsibility to toilet train the kids 😲 it's gone mad.

And the kids are given a terrible start in life by being given a ipad or smart phone to amuse them while being pushed about in a pram or at the table eating etc rather than the parents having to put themselves out and come off their own devices to talk to them, lazy bastards! Apparently more than half of 5 yr olds now have a tablet and phone of their own,and on the news this morning they spoke about a huge rise in 3-6 yr olds being fooled into sending sexual pictures of themselves to kiddy fiddlers on Tik Tok and the like while they're playing games unsupervised! 3-6 yr olds? What the f.ck has the world come to? Bring on the rumoured WW111 when the superpowers will turn off the internet and satnav as their first act!!!

Yes, it's a sad world, Kids copy their parents in many instances. So how can we blame kids?
