Watched a Doco on BBC 4 last night
Dave Tompkins was a petty thief who craved adventure. His career as an international mercenary began in Africa and took him all over the world - to Afghanistan, Croatia and later to Colombia, where he led a team commissioned to assassinate notorious Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar. He went out with Callan and Copland to Angola he was the explosives guy in the team. While laying some mines he was injured by one going off. Got casavact back to uk just before Callan executed some of his men. Peter McAleese featured. We had one guy in our squadron who was out there he told me that the only way he survived was to keep to SOP’s staying in the bush and no tracks/roads

The bottom line is, the reason this country is fukked is down to two main reasons:- first: The Milk Snatcher who fukked all our major industries and number two:- Filling the country wi legions o fukkin soo-ap dodgers!

Snatchin the milk was just a shot across the bows Dave, a tester for things to come. All of the above is down to the change in the political policy/phylosophy worldwide. It's called NEOLIBERALISM mate, it's been around for a while, but Thatcher and Reagan put it into active service from 1980. Blair put it into turbo mode here. His wife (ugly boot), done the number on the human rights front. The US installed various dictators in South America, e.g. Pinochet et al, who controlled public opinion and dissent with their troops and vollies from their 7.62mm FN's. Complain and you were disappeared. They (NL's) intend to privatise absolutely everything and we, the hoi polloi will rent it all back the former head of the WEF Klaus Schab, told us, "...you will have nothing, but you will be happy...".The bottom line is, the reason this country is fukked is down to two main reasons:- first: The Milk Snatcher who fukked all our major industries and number two:- Filling the country wi legions o fukkin soo-ap dodgers!

Now they (NL's), can act with total impunity, knowing there will be absolutely ZERO repercussions. They are now so brazen they can do what they want. Look at the 4x2's, visiting mass genocide on Gaza every day, even under ceasefire conditions. Then there's Donald, who has basically declared war on Venezuela, undoubtedly dragging his pet poodle...us, along. He's admitted it's just to steal their oil. Meanwhile, he's entertaining the former head (no pun) of AL Qaeda in the Whitehouse. This was the leader during the head chopping period. Donald seems to have also declared war on China, Russia, Iran, Syria and anyone who cares to listen.Â

Apparently we can't afford to build adequate decent affordable housing, or road rail systems or even the health service, so where are the shekkels comong from for the expensive adventures?Â

I feel like that at times Jack, only because i, frustratingly can't physically get involved and attempt to get things done. There's also tha fact that as i've said before, absolutely NOTHING will change whilst Neoliberalism is the prevailing phylosophy.ÂIve given up on the politicians DonÂ

Agree to a point Bob. I know it not's fasionable, especially amongst the Airborne fraternity, and at the risk of getting thrown out of the Brownies, i favour George Galloway and even Jeremy Corbin. I'd trust them with the economy. I'd rather be on the left than in the wrong.ÂAs I've said before Don, I trust no politicians because I've never yet seen of or heard of an honest one!
And i'm ashamed to say, i voted x2 for the Thatcher creature.

Some bloke on the wireless was saying, Putin is not a threat, even if he is sending spy ships to plot our undersea cables and shining laser beams at our pilots sent to investigate, and the Ukraine war was not his fault! He obviously wasn't around when Hitler carried out the same tactics in WW2. What does it take for some people to see the what's going on!Â
