Had our annual dinner this evening good speech about the Rgt museum for Paul Bryant. Jacko Page sent  a picture of the Gulf war reunion

Some fit looking lads there Jack,, chests full of metal,put my poor little GSM to shame.

It's becoming a bit like the Yanks now with a medal for everything. There just wasn't the opportunity to build up a collection like those in your day Bob. Half of the ribbons the Yanks wear are unit citations from as far back as the civil war and don't hold a medal, just pretty colours on their chest! 🙄 

Instead of an extra medal tha just sews an extra strip of silver on the GSM to name different operations:-

"South Arabia" "Northern Ireland" etc. Suppose it saves the government a few bob on silver, Last Of The Big Spenders! 🤔 

Well I suppose our pride is what we achieved in our military service. My proudest moment was passing P Company mate, and there are no medals for that, just an immense feeling of pride and belonging. And nobody can take that away from you!

CORRECT!!

It's not hard to recognize people's pride,we see it every year on remembrance day parades throughout the Country. And that is good to see irrelevant of who they are old and young, it's good to see that sign of pride and respect.

That,s right Bob cos respect is earned and not just given!

Very true Dave,there are some who will shout, Show me some respect. They will never get it as long as they have a hole in their arse!

No respect for them Dave, the bloody lot need to wake up to reality to what's happening in this nation of hours, because very soon it won't be ours any longer. Finger out time!

We've got the usual mindless carry on over here at the moment after the stabbing of a local arsehole by an immigrant. Instead of going and burning the seat of government at Stormont to show how pissed off they are at them letting all these savages in, they're burning their own areas and making life uncomfortable for the good people living there as well as the few immigrants they've put out of their houses. Nothing changes and nothing will, apart from a few jail sentences for those involved and higher rates for everyone to cover the compensation paid out, and overtime and bonuses for police and politicians! 🙄
