🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 Me mother was born in a Leap Year, she would have been 105 this year!
That,s a brill innings Bob!!
Yes she could be cantankerous towards the end when the dementia set in, but you never forget what they did for you in the early years Dave. They made you what you are mate, and kept you on the right track!
With a strong right hand round the back of yer head no doubt!
Being even smaller than me it was usually the nearest kitchen utensil, frying pan the usual but the ultimate deterrent was, "I,ll tell your Dad!" Now that would be a proper twatting!
You dreaded your father coming through the door, and your mother saying, sort that little bugger out, he's been up to his antics again. Where's my slipper?
Dads dint fukk about back then Bob! 🤬Â
Got to be honest Dave, any walloping I received from him was well deserved mate. It's a pity that there is a lack of discipline in the home these days, I don't particularly blame parents solely for this because the government in it's infinite wisdom decreed that corporal punishment should be banned. Bloody big mistake in my opinion, you only have to see how disrespectful they are to their own parents!
I realised it had all gone wrong years ago when I was in the GP's waiting room and spotted a thick pamphlet titled 'Your Rights As A Child'. What about the rights of parents to have a well behaved child, which needs their freedom to teach them how to behave using the appropriate rewards and punishments for deeds good or bad? Nothing beats pain related learning to instil discipline or the desire not to get caught next time!
The old tried and tested method,"Pain beats brain!"
Well I never had much in the way of brain, but I certainly suffered a lot of pain. But I did respect my elders and tried to behave responsibly, which on many an occasion failed miserably resulting in more pain! Do you think I might be a masochist?
All of us must be to a certain extent to have put ourselves through P Coy I suppose. The beatings I took as a youngster didn't make me want to alter my behaviour, just to not get caught, something I became rather good at and which has served me well ever since. Also an ability to lie my way out of things on the odd occasion I was caught, earning me a completely undeserved LS+GC! 😉Â
Tha sounds like a politician Pat,them kunts o in the Premier League o liars 😏Â
At junior school Mr Stone the maths teacher told my mother I'd either end up Prime Minister or in jail. Not achieved either yet, but there's still time!
