I dropped Jimmy O'Connel's glass eye in a policewoman's glass of scotch in Tulloch Scotland many years ago and she had a complete sense of humour failure and gave me a richly deserved twatting with her truncheon! It's sitting on the shelf behind me tempting me to do the same with TLO's coffee one day,but I've resisted the temptation so far!

Had a kid at our school Dave, he had a glass eye due to a firework accident. It was a totally different colour from his real eye who could they get that wrong?

Going thru mi owd mans stuff after eee kippered Bob, I came across about a dozen glass eyes of slightly different colours along with his George V1 "For Loyal Service" wound lapel badge. Like a lot o blokes from that era, he rarely spoke of his experiences, most of the bits I learned came from my dear Mum, so when she passed I sent for his service record. He served with 1st Airborne in Tunisia and was wounded at a place called Sedgenen copping for a box head mortar round, lost his mince pie and shredded his leg. After recovery he worked in the Steelworks, carrying on as normal and never missed a shift, in fact aged just 52 he died of a jam tart attack on his way to work!

Sound as a pound Dave, different era and work ethic mate, These days they can't wait to trip on something claim compensation and live on Universal Credit. Pisses me off!
