Having taken into account the current COVID restrictions that currently apply in the different parts of the UK, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 reunion.
The Chairman Nick Butler will be heading up the Fan at 0930 hrs on Saturday the 15th May and he will lay a BAFC wreath on behalf of the Club at the summit.
He will also toast The Fallen.
If other members wish to make their own pilgrimage up the Fan at their own risk please follow the relevant COVID restrictions that will be in place.
As a Club we are not able to accept liability for members safety and well being over the weekend of 14/15 May. Our Clubs insurance that normally covers Fandance will not operate this year.
Update to follow reference Aldershot 10 Miler on the 20th November 2021.
.........................................................................................................................The 10 Miler will be held on w/e Saturday 23rd November 2024........................................................................................
Yes! Just a pity I did not feel like this about bullshit and t**ts in the 'establishment' when younger, why wait til old age?. It seemed to be that any c**t could give you a slap, police, teachers, farmers, shop keepers, neighbours, every c**t. Being in poverty (we were) was regarded by some as being equal to criminality, if poor, you were automatically a f***in thief. Always astonished at how people in a working class environment could look down on other folk who were only a few bob worse off than them. Prefer mi dog nowadays!
Had this sellfy stick for some time I like to be the other side of the camera but in the pub they don’t believe you so I now can prove it. I did 6200 miles last year. Just getting over a cold so got a bollicking for going out (not good for the old ticker apparently)
Man outa mi own jam tart Jack, cycling a great keep fit pastime, no compression wear n tear on thee ankles, knees n Union Jack, n the distance tha can cover fer the same amount o time running is massive. When I lived in Sheffield I cycled miles over the hills n valleys in the Peak District, with hill climbing givin thee a brill workout. Keep up the good work!

Agree totally Dave. Preferred bike to running as I got older because was getting shin splints and all kinds of joint pain, took to mi bike, through the woods and up and over the Pennine hills, hardly cross a road. Some c**t nicked mi bike few months ago but will replace it come spring and get out biking again. if our for day i could even have a good meal in a pub and get back on the bike, could not do that running. not knocking running done it since i was 10 years old. school was about 2 miles away and mi old lady could not afford the penny a day bus fare so she simply said 'run it'. I did and ran almost daily ever since.
I did running most of my life trouble was wore the hip out. I pass a lot of silver surfer cyclist on my routes who cycle to a cafe then a pub. I just get my head down complete the journey then go out for a pint
Reading this, I might get mesen a bike n start agee-an, but keep off the beaten track cos cycling in traffic iz akin ta playin Russian Roulette. Not too many hills around ere n probably a bit too far ta head fer Hadrians Wall. Anyone who knows Sheffield will know that the joint is a Hill Climbers paradise, not only out in the close by Pennines but in the city itself. One in particular close to the city centre itself "Blake Street", like climbing the fukkin Matterhorn, even a hand rail ta help pedestrians climb ta the top n prevent em from falling back down. Used ta be a sprint every year by patrons o the two battlecruisers situated on both corners at the top, first ta the bar wins the race n last man gets the round in. Ball breaker of a race, especially when tha considers that the climb meks Hungry Hill look like a fukkin pimple. Record time still standing iz held by Ernest Harper set in the 30s, he also came 2nd in the 36 Olympics Marathon. Icing on the cake wuz that he set the Blake Street record, arriving straight from iz steel works job n wearing overalls n steel toe capped work boots with flipped Woodbine dog end resting behind iz lug. Don,t mek em like that anymoor. Over ta you Mo Farrah!
