Bi careful wi the owd cider vinegar Bill, allus dilute it befoor neckin. After reading the owd book, "Folk Medicine" by D. C. Jarvis many years agu all about the wonderful benefits o the stuff, I decided ta get some n necked it regularly straight outa the bottle over a number o years. Big Fukk Off mistake cos it burnt me fukkin reflux valve away, so suffered constant acid leading to a diet o Lanzoprozole. Like the owd saying, "Everything in moderation". Allus bin like a bull at a gate which az got mi inta trouble too many fukkin times!

Been doing 300 sit ups a day and after a couple of hours the aches start so giving them a rest. Spoke to an old running mate he has had a pacemaker. He said there were 10 good runners who have had same op.

I do 3 or 4 situps until I manage to rise from the armchair, then walk all the way to the kitchen to get a lager from the fridge. I've actually put the fridge in the far corner of the kitchen so that I have to walk further. That's dedication.
I have always set myself a very low standard, and constantly fail to achieve it.

Jack, I used to do sets of 4X200 sit ups a day varying them from inclined to trunk twist to alternate knee to opposite shoulder and some jacknifes, (remember those?). My running coach used to tell me that after a certain point it was unproductive and I should do more reps of a lower number. I also did a lot of squats and spent absolutely ages stretching, anything to avoid press ups/pull ups etc, as I was extremely weak in the arms.

I could run and tab all day and reasoned that as a distance runner, I didn't want to be top heavy, so didn't want to build the muscles in my arms. Truth is I was crap at anything involving my arms, max press ups ever 22 and struggled, max parallel dips 7 struggled more, max pull ups about 4(?) struggled even more. My arms were like two paracord bootlaces. In basic training I kept getting extra PT until I could climb up a rope.

I struggle to get out of my chair too Steve, so I let the wife get my beer.

300 bloody sit ups? No wonder yer guts are hurting Jack! I don't do any,and my guts are fine,if a little soggy,so my medically sound advice is stop, now, while yer ahead!

Hi repetitions ta loyse body fat iz a myth. Way ta loyse bodyfat covering muscles iz ta strengthen & tone the actual muscles iz ta do high intensity resistance work. For abdominals, either using a chinning bar, hang and lift the knees to the chest and hold for at least 10 seconds, then lower the knees slowly until the legs are hanging straight again. Way to increase strength and muscularity is to increase the length of time you can hold the knees to the chest. Alternatively place two chairs shoulder width apart, place hands on chairs with arms locked then lift knees to chest, holding the position for as long as you can, then lower again slowly. Just one rep like that is enough. Combined with aerobic exercise and cutting down on calorie intake you,ll begin to see the owd washboard appear. Seemples!

Jack, full movement sit ups put very little stress on the abdominal muscles which are very small muscles which only need minimal movement to stimulate, laffin a great example of this. Full range sit ups put more stress on lower back and upper thigh muscles meaning that the abs get very little stimulation. Full extension and contraction of the actual abdominals is a very short movement, hence the longer you can contract with no rest is the way to isolate and strengthen. My ab workout these days iz ta laff me bollox off as often as I can!
