    Re: FEET UP

Back in the saddle takes me 2.11 hours @ 14mph average. A few years ago 1.20 average 18mph (I don't know where that last hour went)
Pissed down just as I got onto the A140

              Re: FEET UP

Out again on Tuesday got drenched a nice young lady stopped her car and offered me an umbrella. I declined saying I was wet. Nice to know there are still decent people about. The routes I go are easy put some hills in the way and see how fast I go then. I am hoping more take up this sport now that summer is here

                Re: FEET UP

It,s a great fitness activity Jack, out in the cuds and much greater distance covered for the same energy and time expenditure used while,st distance running. When venturing out into the Peak District I always carried me day sack with me scoff n poncho inside in case it pissed it down. I used to love to get to the side of a stream, av me scoff then lie down on the grass fer a doss before cycling back to the gaff. Who sed keeping fit is boring?

                    Re: FEET UP

Don't want any more taking it up over here. The local cycling clubs are a plague, riding 3 abreast,in groups of 20 or more, round the country roads, cackling with glee at the miles of traffic trapped behind at 15 mph!Last night the police closed off the local town,Newtownards, completely from 1800-2100,to allow them to hold a time trial through the streets. No buses or taxis could get in to take people to the restaurants etc,so businesses will have suffered, all to please a couple of hundred cyclists, many of them police funnily enough. If a group of vintage car or motorbike enthusiasts wish to drive in procession through a town here, they have to apply to the Parades Commission, and pay quite a large sum per vehicle,to cover the cost of policing, and road closure, but funnily enough the cycling clubs don't have this problem!

                      Re: FEET UP

Although once a keen cyclist mesen, I wuz a Lone Ranger, so allus tucked in close to the curb, even on the many country lanes I travelled, to me it,s common sense, but like you say Pat the two n three a breast fukkers are just bein arrogant. Deffo an unfair fight between a bicycle n a jam jar or lorry!

Makes your knees shake just looking at that, didn't mind the beam in the gym but a wobbly rope and wobbly knees no thanks. Looks a damn good cure for constipation that one !

Not my cup of tea. Whats with these nutters ? They tired of living ? Just sin a vid of a Russian bloke that was filming a back flip on a parapet wall around the top of a Moscow High Rise and then wobbles a bit and does a big old swan dive onto the footpath below. I can't fathom it. Even in me daftest days I would'nt have done it....and I have done some stupid stupid shit.
