Having taken into account the current COVID restrictions that currently apply in the different parts of the UK, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 reunion.
The Chairman Nick Butler will be heading up the Fan at 0930 hrs on Saturday the 15th May and he will lay a BAFC wreath on behalf of the Club at the summit.
He will also toast The Fallen.
If other members wish to make their own pilgrimage up the Fan at their own risk please follow the relevant COVID restrictions that will be in place.
As a Club we are not able to accept liability for members safety and well being over the weekend of 14/15 May. Our Clubs insurance that normally covers Fandance will not operate this year.
Update to follow reference Aldershot 10 Miler on the 20th November 2021.

Army Airborne Transport Development Centre 1959 (part of JATE Joint Air Transport Establishment)
A demonstration drop over Salisbury plain in front of a load of Brass, some of them from NATO.
The load was an Austin Champ and a 25 Pdr Field Gun and Limber.
Due to time constraints on the DZ the take off process at base was a bit rushed and some of the load checks were done a little on the quick side.
The run into the DZ went OK and the load was pushed down the runners and went merrily out the back with no sign of a chute deployment. Apparently someone had forgotten to remove the pins from the chute packs!
When the dust had settled on the ground the poor old Austin Champ was no more than 18" tall and the 25 Pdr gun barrel was bent like a banana!
It was an expensive trial for the Champ fleet as on another occasions the locks on the pallet failed when the a/c rotated on takeoff and the whole think went out the back and bounced down the runway shedding bits as it went.Austin.jpgFerret.jpgWombatc.jpgVickers.jpg
The pictures show 1=Champ 2=Ferret 3= Wombat 4=Vickers MG. As for the Heavy drop candle we had the same thing happen in France with a land rover & trailer carrying a 106 RR in 1961

Abingdon about 74 I think - but I do remember we got there and they were making a new film about 'Reef Mains Extraction' me and Frank Ubsdell were film stars
It's not the love in your life - it's the life in your love
1960 did 'Riggers' course at Netheravon. Instructor Sergeant was nicknamed 'Halfamark'. Any slight mistake in his eyes he would say "Lose Half a Mark'. Said it so often he got that knick name. Platforms were different to those showed in photos. Rigged Land Rover, Trailer and 106 Recoilless Anti Tank gun.
Your right Kanaka, we had "Shock Struts" under the land rover and trailer and i don't see any under the Champ, you muct have been there around the same time as myself mate.

If that's a wombat Tug,it must be a prototype or something, because the cradle is different from the beast I remember, and the venturi is shorter.Maybe a mobat,as that's the only one of the family I have never seen?
