Shock struts and airbags on the platforms we rigged. Here's some poor pics, i'm not sure that i've correctly marked a shock strut.

Gogs here's something i put on FB the other day re rat packs.

"...Before you get too nostalgic for bacon grill i suggest you buy a tin from either Aldi or Lidl and eat it in the comfort of your home. Then you'll realise it was only good when you were wet and cold and knackered on the side of a hill in the middle of nowhere. In my excitement i bought two tins, the other one won't be opened any time soon."

I reckon the same will apply to the chicken curry mate.

No Mick it's the Mobat, the Conbat was in all respects the same but instead of the LMG(Bren) it had the .50 fitted. Having the .50 meant the "mismatch rules" could be dispensed with that you had with the Bren.Anyway as i have mentioned in the past i liked the 106mm best having "Played" with them all apart from the BAT during my time.

Another mystery solved. Cheers, Pat and I have been discussing the BAT series and were unsure of the MOBAT's finer points. Needless to say I was closer to the truth than the lard bucket, even though he was in Anti-Tanks!

106 was a great anti tank gun plus it fitted on the back of a landrover. Here is a Picture of 1 Para Anti Tank Platoon, Albuhera Barracks circa 1960. Officer Lt. Wildblood. Sgt. Tim O'Brien. Handsome bloke far right sitting you can guess who. No Bills I was not always an ugly sod.1.Para Anti Tank.jpg

Definitely must've been some sort of prototype of the wombat then,as there's several significant differences.Used the CONBAT in Belize and Canada, but never seen the MOBAT till now. Thanks for the education Tug,every day's a school day.Mick, the peaked cap really suited you! Can't understand why you transferred to the Reg!!

The Yanks had a thing called the Ontos with 6 x 106s on it,they used it in Vietnam.
