Sad news received this morning that Sir Peter died during the night.
I met him several times while researching the BING the PARA dog book during WW2 as he was the first Sniper/Dog Reconnaissance OC with 13th Battalion.
What an absolute gentleman and very modest when we touched on his bravery.
Highly thought of by HM the Queen resulting in him being made the Governor of the Military Knights of Windsor and also the Governor of the Royal Hospital at Chelsea. He did so much in his short 90 years, that you would think he was 180.
What an absolute Ambassador for The Parachute Regiment.
Sir I salute you, a great loss to this nation
RIP
