Having taken into account the current COVID restrictions that currently apply in the different parts of the UK, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 reunion.
The Chairman Nick Butler will be heading up the Fan at 0930 hrs on Saturday the 15th May and he will lay a BAFC wreath on behalf of the Club at the summit.
He will also toast The Fallen.
If other members wish to make their own pilgrimage up the Fan at their own risk please follow the relevant COVID restrictions that will be in place.
As a Club we are not able to accept liability for members safety and well being over the weekend of 14/15 May. Our Clubs insurance that normally covers Fandance will not operate this year.
Update to follow reference Aldershot 10 Miler on the 20th November 2021.

I'm sorry to say guys, I got an sms from my wife saying that Alan has passed away. Its too late to call her now and I am on my way to Italy.
I am sure Don will bring more info to this sad story tomorrow.
R.I.P Alan secure the final RV.
Our thoughts are with Kirsti and the boys at this sad time.
Just picked this up, it arrived 01:45 (02:45 local), so didn't want to call Kirsti at that time.
Alan put up a very brave fight, he lived well beyond the date his specialist gave him and is out of pain now. Kirsti is all but totally alone, she has no family and apart from some neighbours she doesn't know very well there is only us.

Hi Don,
As you might have heard Alan passed on yesterday afternoon (6/4) I don't want to bother you at this time of night but I am really struggling to cope. Could you give me a ring asap tomorrow because I don't really know how to handle this, thought I was doing allright but I just feel aweful now. Our housephone has decided to go on strike and our portable phone keeps dying for some reason but I hope that I will be able to answer you if you do call and would be very happy to call you back then. I am going to go down to our basement now and see if I can dig out Alan's army sleeping bag and lie down beside him. I have turned off the heat in our bedroom and opened our balcony door but just looked at the thermometer outside and is says minus six so it is starting to get a bit chilly in there. Wish that you weren't all so boody far away . One of the last things Alan said before he went into some sort of coma was that I had to talk to Southhampton. Figured it might be one one the names that one of you used/uses on your site because I was just trying to tell him a little bit about what Albert and the lot of you are trying to do for us. Have you got any idea what he was on about? If so would you please help me to get in touch with this guy?!
x
Kirsti

I, and i am sure all of us will miss Alan's informative posts, good humoured banter, and his courage in the face of the dreadful illness he was going through, although i have never met Alan, i feel that i got to know him and his family though his posts and i can only add my own sincere condolences to Kirsti and the children for their sad loss.REST IN PEACE my Airborne brother and stand easy.
May i add a very big thank you to those on this site who are helping Kirsti to carry out Alan's wishes for his internment, the Airborne motto in action AD UNUM OMNES.
