Re: Denzil Connick
Steve, I posted this on 15Para today apologies for not posting earlier on here, but i was dealing with some flak and forgot:
"...the sitrep is; yes, he's breathing on his own, but the prognosis has not changed.
Last night the BAFC chairman Nick was called by Denzil's wife to say he was near the end. Then we were told later last night that his machine was switched off and he only had hours to go. Later still we were contacted and told he'd gone. It seems that rumour control is, as normal, out of control, but sadly the outcome is inevitable.
Then this morning Denzil's son Stephen posted this:
"Update from Denzil's son 1hr ago:
Well he’s standing true to his Nick name “never a dull moment death defying Denzil”.
Last night the Drs turned off the machines and we was told he would pass over in next few hours. We are still sat with him now and he stats haven’t changed.
Not to fill anyone with false hope as the dr says this happens some times.
But just so you all know and if your could pass on ti the people who would like to know. He is still alive at this moment, unconscious with a pulse. Just waiting for him to pass tho. He’s fighting to the last.
Going out in his shield for sure.
Please feel free to pass this on.
Sat morning 0815- Denzils son Stephen."
I believe the situation is still the same.
I remember another member, ex 2PARA who had heart problems, was wheeched into hospital. Similar to Denzils situation, but his wife posted on fudbook that he was on life support and they removed his breating tube only a few hours to go. To everyones surprise, he recovered and is still on the go. I told him he was an attention seeking bastard, sadly i don't see me repeating the joke with Denzil."We're surrounded on all sides... Good... you're obviously in the right place".

Re: Denzil Connick
Just had it confirmed by 2Heads that Denzil left the building at around midnight! Again R.I.P. old mate!
My first sighting of Denzil was around '77 in Osnabruck, monday morning muster parade,as he was marched to jail by George Duffus. Denzil, still pissed from sunday's session was shrieking "Dhobi Dhobi Dhobi!"at the top of his voice,George's middle name which he'd just informed the A/Tk Pl was no longer to be used as he was now a sergeant and it was disrespectful!
My last sighting was sitting with him on the windowsill of the rugby club in may chatting about his sons, when he threw his arm round my shoulders and said "I f.ckin' love you Pat!" I said he'd embarrassed me and he said "Good! Now f.ck off ya crow!"and I did! Love ya Denz!!!
