Looks like it was dug out of an old IRA cache!I take it that it's only single shot,as the gas tube looks to be missing, with the spring and rod showing at the rear of the forward woodwork?

I don't think that is the weather mate.... in N Carolina. Looks like sheer neglect to me mate.

no pat it is a STG 58 C it was stored in a shed in NC i used to live there at the beach... the rifle belonged to a USMC lad he went to iraq and elsewhere the wife and him split all is gear got put into a storage locker. no AC no circulating air and temps and humidity did the rest. it is semi auto but the working parts are all frozen... it needs immersed in diesel for a week and given a good cleaning.... the inside of the barrel is of course rusty nothing bronze wire brushes won't fix...... the rifle is mainly brit parts built by entreprise here in CA early 80. TONE SO FAR THE BIDDING IS $400.00 the rifle in parts is worth at least a GRAND. i would buy it but the guy selling it is not registered to sell in CA.

Even if it was all cleaned up (diesel and all) wouldn't even think of using it. Pokey drill would also be out of the question. What a waste?
