  • ANOTHER BLAST FROM THE PAST

On the strongman circuit receiving me prize from then Sheff Wed Manager, "Big" Jack Charlton, top bloke!
Looking on is 1st team trainer and me owd mate, ex Maureen PTI Tony Toms, drinks like a fish and smokes like a chimney, but fit as f.ck.
Once took the first team up on the moors to tuffen em up and test their survival skills, and whil,st there arranged a match with the grazing sheep. The sheep won 3-0 !
Tony went on to the security game and worked as bodyguard for Madonna during her 80s UK tour, and knowing Tomsy who would f.ck a frog if he could stop it from jumping, I bet owd Madonna gorra personal introduction to "Fagin!"

Nice comb over Jacks got, it runs in the family.
I have always set myself a very low standard, and constantly fail to achieve it.

that was a cracker Dave, I remember seeing a photo of him running with the ball and his 4 strands of hair were flying behind him.

Best comb over I ever saw was on a RAF sergeant in Belize, who jumped in the pool for a swimming test with a full head of hair, and when he surfaced there was a raft of hair floating beside his Phil Silvers style head.He kept trying to flick it back over as he swam,to the roars of our laughter!

Dave , Jackie and Bobby Charlton were both Ashington lads, lived about two miles from me up in Northumberland. Old jacks a good lad feet firmly on the ground mate. Never forgot his mining town upbringing !
