    Re: Steve's favourite place....

Tell you what Tone, me and Chalkie had a weekend in the depot nick prior to moving down there and that was much worse. After the first couple of days we found it pretty easy, as you know after you've done P Company, getting shouted at doesn't really bother you. Recall a few hats crying their eyes out though. Once we organised a Grenadier Guard to bull our boots for us we were okay.

So Steve did it square you away and get you sorted into a super soldier or did it, as I suspect bounce off you like a water balloon off a Mallard.
I was looking at those Screws.....you gotta be some sort of a degenerate pond scum human being to want to do that to your fellow soldier.
Reminds me of Ian Hendry in "The Hill" a couple of them. I mean this ain't Dartmoor where you got a population, most of who my old man said should have been
executed straight away, and you need hard time nasty warders. This was sheparding young miscreants that do daft shit like high jacking tellies for the most part.
Now I know somebody has to do the job but who in the fook would volounteer for it. Like these blokes must have. Or do they get posted against their will ?
Fancy a job where you are shouting and inspecting to an insane level and punishing people at people all day long ?

Cant honestly say it helped much Tone, just a bit more careful not to get caught next time. Yes I always wondered what sort of person would want to join the army and do a job like that. Probably leave and become parking inspectors. Shouting "you can't park there mate"

Remember we had a fullscrew in 2 PARA who was never allowed back to N.I. for tours of duty, so he transferred to the monkeys & got posted to Colly for this crap, wont name him on this forum for the obvious reasons.
