  • AUNT LIZ

Nice day yesterday, so beloved and mesen thought we,d gu an visit me owd Aunt Liz.
Belongs to Royalty so a bit snotty, but sure she,d luv ta see a f.ckin ruff arse like me.
Gaffs a bit shitty, but don,t mind drinkin me brew out of a jam jar.
Footman even greeted me with the polite welcome of, "Shift c.nt!"
Seriously folks, a gud day out at the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle, well worth a visit if yer ever around the area.
Gaff is the former family seat of the late Queen Mother, and it wuz nice to see that they were avin it ruff like the rest o the working classes back in the day when a f.ckin midget like me wudda probably bin now sealed up in one the f.ckin chimneys!
"ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!" is the quote that springs to mind. Believe that f.cker, and yall believe that Sheffield United might f.ckin win summat in my lifetime!

The stuff inside theer Bob, must bi weth a f.ckin fortune. That Swan is an automitan, med in the 19th century, it,s solid silver and at certain times of the day a geezer winds it up and it plays a toon, moves around, picks a silver fish up and swallows it. Wunt like ta guess how much it,s weth in todays market, but there,s big f.ck off rooms full o priceless antiques, gold, silver, furniture, and they even av a solid gold, covered in sea pearls clockwork mouse! Musta bin a Chrimbo pressy fer little Lord Fontleroy.
Bi oreight wi the owd hurdy gurdy in the grounds John, there,ll bi all soorts o treasures hidden beneath the surface that,s bin dropped over the centuries by the gentry. Even ad a word with the head gardener about treasure hunting prospects, but he wuz a miserable twat who kept asking me to repeat mesen az he could,nt understand me accent!

F.ck knows Dave, but there,s an old ruined fortified Medieval Manor House half a mile from our gaff that also belonged to them, so a bit like horse shit, all over the f.ckin place!

I was walking round Barney yesterday; shopping and then took the dog down for a swim in the Tees. I was parked down the road from the Museum. Would have been good to see you and Val for a cuppa.

Thanks Dave - is that Medieval place the same one that has that white fireplace surround hanging halfway up the wall ? If not, have you been across it with your hurdy-gurdy yet ?

Yes that,s the one Dave, and the Medieval fireplace is still hanging theer. Sadly it,s a haunt fer the local druggies, needles and rubbish all over the f.ckin place, unloved and un cared for. Local Council deserves f.ckin with a ragmans trumpet. Ya can bet ya bollox though that if I decided to rescue the fireplace fer posterity, some shiny arsed councilor wud demand me bein banged up fer stealing the local heritage. TWATS!

I can recommend Raby Castle. Very interesting place, oozing history. I rented a cottage on the Estate a few years ago while my house was being repaired by the Coal Authority. Give me a bell; I'll meet you there for a look round and a cuppa.
