  • BONUS

Beautiful weather up ere last Thursday so decided to venture out into the cuds with the owd hurdy gurdy and top the owd tan up at the same time as an added bonus.
Dint expect to get much apart from the usual crap, cans and pull tabs that idle bastards just f.ckin lob down when thiv f.ckin necked the contents. Also going over old ground I,d detected befoor, so no great expectations.
Tried a dried up moat round the local 12th century castle/Manor House, and surprise, surprise, BINGO!
Unearthed a beautiful 13th Century Mace Head, great patina and in great nick. Solid bronze and heavy, so wudda done some f.ckin damage when wacked around some poor f.ckers crust back in days of yore.
Wonder if it belonged to one o Bob The Bruce,s mob when he and his mob o mad Jocks came round these parts to pillage and rape young English tash?
Not only that, but the bonus of unearthing a beautifully made small 16th century Tudor silver gilt brooch. Bet the tash who wore that wuz glad that the Jocks ad f.cked off back home by the time she resided in the gaff!
    History, f.ckin BRILL innit!

    Re: BONUS

That Mace looks a bit wicked Dave ? Are you planning to put a handle on it ?

The little brooch . Pin from Tudor times is interesting,is it likely to be worth much ?

Either way - you've done it again with some interesting finds mate - well done !

What's happened to that carved stone fireplace that was hanging off a wall half way up it ? It still there - that would surely fetch a bob or two - not that I could afford it - todays houses are much too small to house summat as neat and classy as that....just asking..

Dave, you should put something next to it to give a sense of scale mate, e.g. 50p, a pen or a 6" ruler.
