While on a course at Lippspringe in Germany a young lady on the course simply because her father was a major at a nearby base had an asthma attack or something similar as the plane took off.For some reason we were only hooked up once we reached 500 feet,to enable a quick getaway if we crashed I suppose,and she began to slide out of the open door,unconcious,only to be grabbed by half a dozen lecherous Paras,who took full advantage of the situation and had a good feel of her bountious assets.She came to the piss up at the end,where she was invited to sit on Ian Marshall's knee for a group photo with the Red Freds,whereupon her kecks were whipped down to bare her arse for a few quick polaroids,which were swiftly put into a stamped addressed envelope to her father!Don't know if there were any repercussions from that one or not,but still chuckle at her naiveity,and yes she was blonde!

Vanessa Raines was her name,17 yr old daughter of Major Raines,RAPC.I often wonder about the conversation they had,and what became of her later in life.There was another woman on the course,Cess (Cecilia) Brown,who of course became "Cess Pit" to us all.Ugly little muscle bound MP corporal.She was first to get to freefall,and on her second jump had her 'chute explode above her head into tatters,(we were using old C9 double L's,apparently previously used in WW2 US bombers).She pulled her reserve which failed to leave it's pack,being stuck together with dampness,so she calmly rolled on her back and pulled it out,and shook it till it opened about 300 foot up.Cool chick,who went up in our estimation instantly,when she landed and demanded another 'chute to go straight back up!

I tend to (sort of) agree with Steve.

- Having taken into account the current COVID restrictions that currently apply in the different parts of the UK, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 reunion. The Chairman Nick Butler will be heading up the Fan at 0930 hrs on Saturday the 15th May and he will lay a BAFC wreath on behalf of the Club at the summit. He will also toast The Fallen. If other members wish to make their own pilgrimage up the Fan at their own risk please follow the relevant COVID restrictions that will be in place. As a Club we are not able to accept liability for members safety and well being over the weekend of 14/15 May. Our Clubs insurance that normally covers Fandance will not operate this year. Update to follow reference Aldershot 10 Miler on the 20th November 2021.
