    Characteristics for Item # 439821641
    Manufacturer: Small Arms Factory, Lithgow
    Model: L1A1 A
    Caliber: 7.62 NATO
    Barrel Length: 18 inch
    Capacity: 20-29
    Description for Item # 439821641
This is one of the last of the 158 Joe Poyer L1A1's imported prior to the 1989 assault weapons ban. Serial number is SAF 830163 and it is completely matching with its original box, certificate of authenticity, Small Arms Factory Lithgow manual, tags, bayonet, sling and 20 round mag. I am not the original owner but rifle appears to be unfired with minimal handling marks. Metal finish is a solid 99%+. Furniture has some lite dings and a very fine hairline crack in the right side of the wrist on the butt-stock. Note:Photos #3 and #33 are close-up's of the area. Photos 20 & 21 show the left side of the wrist. Looking closely at both areas with a 10x loop there is a 1/4 inch crack on the right side and the left appears to be a natural grain line. There is no movement in either area which makes the identification of a crack challenging. Photos also include close-ups of serial numbered components, proofs, and cartouches. Rifle will ship to a valid FFL and only to states/municipalities where legal. Winning bidder to pay actual shipping and insurance. Rifle, box, and accouterments will be carefully packed and double boxed. Thanks for looking!

Do you think that is worth that kind of money Bill ? You can get a Barratt .50 Cal for that brand new.

It is a nice weapon, but do we buy them to look at ? To polish on a Sunday morning A couple of trips through the booneys and two hundred rounds, and the gloss is knocked off it

Looks like Barratt 50 Cal have gone up.

I'm afraid it's all academic here. We're not even allowed an air gun these days. Wonder if you can still get spud guns?

I'm shocked, the aussie SLR hasn't got a bottle opener attached.
I have always set myself a very low standard, and constantly fail to achieve it.

Steve the flash hider or the bayonet clip can be used for that important function mate. Adapt/improvise and overcome.

I know Don but you just expect more of an aussie weapon, there should also be a flint for lighting the barbeque.

the value tone is in the condition of the rifle. the collector who can afford to buy this has other rifles to go plinking or hunting with. it has never been fired. as i have said you can get a slr for around 2k but odds on it is a parts rifle. my fal rifles cost approx 1250 but they are completely rebuilt on austrian parts and the parts # match. the barrett is an awesome rifle indeed. and very accurate. don shame about how the people in the uk have swallowed the bs from the government that you all as citizens are safer without guns. the facts clearly speak for themselves. as i have said repeatedly you deserve the government you do not vote for.

Trouble is billy, we never get the Govt we vote for. Like the US we get the Govt that the big business corporations pay for.

Thats right Don Ihad'nt used to think that but I do now. I am beginning to think this voting and democracy is a load of bollox.
We just get a constant flow of people that are great at promising and telling tales and fables at election time but can't or won't perform once they get in.
Why can it not be merit based ? Like tap into high ranking Ex Army/Navy /Raf Officers or big time Coppers or Civil Servants or proven Business men with three decades of experience and sterling records of performance and achievment and above all fearless common sense... (There's the key)

Why do we have to let the likes of 18 year old heroin users have the vote. Or lazy bastards that never did a days collar in their lives. Or just plain old thick cnuts that know nothing about anything
You can vote if you are in a mental hospital. Its flawed to fook the whole system. We need smart capable people in there but its sewn up before we get to vote.
Fook voting. Start awarding these positions to the right people. Let qualifications rule the day and let it be for just six years. Then he goes back to his old job or gets a pension, for his service.

i suppose it is that way mate. They say there is a buyer for everything. I once stood in front of a painting in the Getty Museum in Santa monica and it looked like a five year old on drugs had painted it......but they had just forked over twenny million dollars for it. The Polish Artista I was with at that time dragged me 200 mile round trip to stare at it. Takes all sorts.
It is a beautiful rifle but, me being me, sans tinnitus, it would be nicked and scratched in short order up on the Grapevine..... putting fierce portions of wild pork in the freezer

I am now cammed up holding a lump hammer and a beer barrel bung to seal it's arse if I can catch it.

Trubrit; I usually agree with your line of political comments but I shudder to think of those people being in charge. I think you've just described Freemasons, who already have too much influence in the running down of GB. The 'common sense' bit is more like it and I've always found that in folk who do an honest days work with their hands.
