Re: Scottish Sergeant WW11
I was looking at it. It would make a brilliant film.
She was lucky they left the Hungarian Jews till '44 in one way. Thats why she still looked so good. (She would have looked like hell a year down the road). It took so long because Admiral Horthy would not hand them over. So the Krauts invaded to get them. Fookin' barbarians.
When she got dragged there it was the most intense period of gassing at Auschwitz. I think they gassed 430 000 Jews in about 53 days. Bad bastard, that Eichmann. It was obvious they were losing the war and they were using all the railway stock and thousands of blokes to gas women and little kids. I still can not wrap me head around the whole concept. I would like to think that the British Army would have shot their officers rather than stuff those people in gas chambers. Fookin' weird for a nation that gave us Mozart, Beethoven and Schiller to go that way. Never figured it out.
Good for the Jock Sergeant."If they control your speech.....they control your life"

Pat...... I went out with a Polska bird who came from Pszczyna (Pishtina) which is very near to the camp. About 12 miles West as the crow flies. She remembers people still scrubbing the layers of black sooty fat off the their houses and shops in the early fifties, eight years after the war. She reckoned that the death marches from the camp, to escape The Russians, went straight through that little village as it was then and into Austria. She said the Polish Christian Catholics buried the poor bastards, that keeled over and were shot by the SS, all over the show in batches. They put little monuments up all the way along the route wherever the buried them. Hell of a time.Last edited by trubrit2411; 23 November 2018, 22:03."If they control your speech.....they control your life"

Got German relatives, no wish to see them much, last time had right punch up with two 'cousins'. They figure the problem with the Brits is that they 'cannot forget the war' and my reaction was that it should never be forgotten because a so called intelligent, well educated, culturally advanced people turned in to ranting f***in lunatics by following a weird little c**t who, if he turned up your doorstep you would think he was a toilet brush f***in salesman. I had to remind them that it was not just blokes with SS on their shoulders that did the killing, local councils and cops rounded Jews up, public transport took them to the gas chambers and FFS no one say that the train drivers could not see what was going on

Germans will not talk about it. They just won't. I had a German mate here who was a coppersmith. He used to do all the flashing along the beach around the chimneys and roofs. People loved him. But as soon as you mention the nasty stuff. He did not want to know. He fought in the war. Dead now.Originally posted by standinthedoor View PostGot German relatives, no wish to see them much, last time had right punch up with two 'cousins'. Another time I was coming from Heathrow flying standby to save a few shekels. Got put on a 747 with a load of German tourists.300 of them....one of me. I sat on the aisle seat with a young German couple. He spoke cracking English. After about an hour on the way to Greenland I asked straight out. "Why did the Germans gas all them Jews" ? I thought we was going to have this deep philosophical conversation. He clammed up tighter than a Mother Superiors Snatch. Rolled his eyes and never spoke another word all the way to Los Angeles. Not a one.
Then, a weird thing happened. The lights went dim and the film came on. Guess what it was..... "Triumph Of The Spirit" Willem Dafoe. About a Greek Jewish boxer scrapping for the SS entertainment....and his life... in Auschwitz. Soon as it came on all the heads disappeared below the seats. All around me people dived for magazines, books, anything but look forward. Total silence. Where I was anyway. Nobody can tell me some Jewish bloke working for Delta Airlines did not get one in on them Krauts with that.
Having said that I don't blame them now. I did for a long while though.

Years ago was going out with a cracker (Brit), she loved skiing, we went to austria eveery year for years. Used to go up the Zugspitz mountain on a very long cable ride. her name was Judith which I shortened to 'Jude', we got separated in the car and halfway up I called out 'Jude', most in the car were German and heads f***in swizzled round and suddenly they all took an interest in the sky, or anything outside of the car. You are right, they do not like it up em at all.

Yep from what I have seen of them that would do it Wig. Though I have to say one thing. The Jews that were contacted for witnesses in the Allied Trials from 46 onward.....some of them lied in their testimony.Originally posted by standinthedoor View PostYears ago was going out with a cracker (Brit), she loved skiing, we went to austria eveery year for years. I just literally sat down and read the whole court reporters transcript for the Trial of Joseph Kramer and 40 odd others, in the Belsen Trial and with what we know now..... Some of those women witnesses lied through their teeth. As if what they found was not bad enough they added stuff in. Plus there was quite a few SS rounded up by pissed off British Squaddies, got hammered blind, that had only been at Belsen a matter of a day. They had been press ganged into the Women's SS, literally strong armed into service, because they worked with and knew the Polish and Czech forced laborers they worked along side, who the Germans needed moving out of the Russian advance.
Some of those swept up in the chaos were just ordinary people in a brand new issue SS Uniform.Last edited by trubrit2411; 25 November 2018, 01:09."If they control your speech.....they control your life"

You should've pronounced it in English Ron, Jude rather than Yoodeh.Originally posted by standinthedoor View PostYears ago was going out with a cracker (Brit), she loved skiing, we went to austria eveery year for years. Re: Scottish Sergeant WW11
You know the score Tone, when a bunch of troops see what they feel to be an atrocity they lash out and 'justice' and 'common sense' go out the window, many innocent people have lost their lives in that sort of set up over the years. A Russian was telling his story about Berlin near the end of the war, he was down in a cellar and his mates shoved any German soldiers they captured down the cellar and the Russian cut their throats. He admitted that most of the 'soldiers' were 12 or 13 year old children pressed in to fighting. Sad world.Originally posted by trubrit2411 View PostYep from what I have seen of them that would do it Wig. Though I have to say one thing.
