Hi Dave got the books okay mate, first thing that struck me was the name Vaculik. I'm two thirds through that Damien Lewis book SAS Band of Brothers, you were right it should be made into a movie, in that book is one of the survivors of that raid the Frenchman Vaculik. that guy and his mate Ginge Jones, did well to withstand the brutality of the SS and Gestapo, evil bastards. I'm just at the part where they are now hunting down the ones who shot the rest of the raid party. So I will be looking forward to reading Vaculik's book as it will be in the same vein ! Cheers Dave, thanks for that !

Re: FAO DB Books
Spot on there mate, just finished The Band Of Brothers one last night, I'd like to know what happened to that bloke Starr, reading between the lines that twat passed a lot of info to the Germans, and although he was able to identify the offenders who shot those boys in the wood. And the hunter team were able to track them down, the worst offender was used by the British to identify Russian spies in Germany because having been ex gestapo he had records of all Russian spies operating there. So the bastard was given a new identity, and saved from execution !Bob (geordie) Watts

Re: FAO DB Books
Remember all those German rocket scientists who the yanks purloined at the end of the war, it was through those twats and Albert Speer that thousands of slave labourers were worked to death ! Makes you sick when somebody calls Speer a good Nazi, there wasn't a good one among the bastards, which would have been proved had they won the war .Bob (geordie) Watts

Re: FAO DB Books
I was delivering to Faslane and i was behind time, so i greatly exceeded their speed limit to get out. Got to the gate and a kunnt on a scooter behind me shouted something to the gateman, he turned out the guard. By this time scooterboy had rolled up beside me, he was a Navy Lt.
He started on at me about the speed, i told him to fukk off...as you do. He said those immortal words; "do you know who i am?", i looked at the guard and said 'here's a man who doesn't know who he is', then said to the twat, 'maybe one of these cabbageheeds can help you mate, now fukk off'. Twat mumbled something and the gate opened.
I have used other responses to those words, once to a young cop, i answered 'no mate, don't they give you a card with your name on it?' Another time was to 'the bosses young son' who had been given a bit of authority which immediately went to his head...'no son, didn't your mother sew your name into your jacket?' My boss got regular complaints from wankers but i didn't give a fukk."We're surrounded on all sides... Good... you're obviously in the right place".

Re: FAO DB Books
I had a similar experience on arrival at a logistics base in Hounslow to pick up some urgently needed paperwork for ammunition we needed. Seeing a couple of middle aged women in tracksuits coming down the stairs I asked "Excuse me love,is this the right office block for 342 EOD?" The first one exploded "Love?Love? I'm Major So And So,how dare you?" I had assumed they were cleaners, given that it was 7pm and their dress, and just had to answer that it was f.ckin' obvious by all the crowns on their tracksuits....not... that they were'nt cleaners wasn't it? After further attempts to dress me down, and being told to f.ck off,I found myself visiting the CO the next day,a boring twat of a grey man posted from Hereford, for a lecture on diplomacy!

Re: FAO DB Books
Had to laugh the other day reading a book that Dave sent me called Parkhurst, the story of a Prison Officer his adventures and Misadventures while serving there. He said they escorted a Bad guy to a family funeral, the bad guy was chained to a fairly new prison officer, during the service the bad guy tried to do a runner and grabbed the new guy shouting I'll cut his throat now get these cuffs of me ! The bloke who had the keys did a runner and locked himself in a nearby bog, The Senior Officer did a runner, shouting he was going for help ! So the poor new guy was stabbed while surrounded by the criminal fraternity and chained to this nutter ! If it hadn't been for the intervention of plain clothes coppers at the scene The New Guy would have been shafted, as it was he was off for 25 months recovering from injuries sustained. And the cowardly bastards who accompanied him were justifying what they did to anyone who would listen. Talk about back up FFS !Bob (geordie) Watts

Re: FAO DB Books
Still reading that one at the moment Dave, it seems like there was more than one mate. Don't know who he could go in every day knowing that he was likely facing the shit hitting the fan without backup !Bob (geordie) Watts
