    Good morning ladies and gentlemen

    A celebration of the life of 5511321 SSgt Maurice Herridge, who died on Sunday 10th May 2015 aged 92 years, will take place at 1400 hours on Tuesday 26th May 2015 at St John’s Church, Leigh Road, Wimbourne BH21 1AE. For parking at the Church please use the adjacent school playground (access off Legg Lane). The Service will be followed by refreshments in the Cobham Sports and Social Club, Merley Park Road, Wimbourne BH21 3DA. All are welcome.

    Maurice was born on 13th March 1923 in Wimborne. At the age of 17 he first joined the Hampshire Regiment then later applied to the Glider Pilot Regiment. He was a S/Sgt in A Sqn and took part in Operation Mallard on the evening of D-Day and was on the first lift into Holland for Operation Market Garden, landing near Nijmegen.
