World Cup ....99 out of a hundred around me don't even know what it is ? I ask them about it and I may as well be talking Einstein equations
The biggest sports competition in the known world and they have not a clue what is.
They do however have the "World Series Baseball" and whoever wins it are "World Champions"

I've asked how come they are World Champs when nobody else plays it ?
Answer was "Well Cuba and Japan have leagues. Ain't our fault they they don't come.

I think the fact that two teams can play each other for 90 minutes Tone and finish the game in a 0-0 draw don,t add up to the Yanks. There allus has to be a winner,even a score draw is not accepted. Back in the 70s when many top British players near the end of their career,including George Best and Rodney Marsh and many others went over to try and build up interest in the British game of "Soccer",they altered the rules slightly so that no game could,nt end in a draw. If after 90 minutes,it was all square they introduced a shoot out where the out player dribbled the ball from the halfway line with only the goalie to beat. To them there had to be a winner,otherwise what,s the point.

Hated it with a passion my whole life.Even as a kid I couldn't see the point of kicking a ball between 2 nets for an hour and a half,and can't see how people get so excited over it,bores me to tears.The fact that people kill each other over the colour of a football shirt puts me off as well,there's far better reasons to kill someone than his preference for a team of overpaid nancy boys.That's one thing they got right in Iran,banning football and using the stadiums for public executions,much more entertaining.

YES - Brazil 3 - Croatia 1........and a Brazilian own Goal gave Croatia their ONE,so really it was Brazil 4 - Nil.
