    Re: 11/11/18

Slightly off subject (for a change) did not realise that Gen George Patten US WW2) died after a road accident soon after the war ended in Germany or Austria (?) and is buried there and not in US, find that surprising as he was considered 'the best war fighting general the US had'. Conspiracy theorists think the Russians organised the crash

Wig....Thats because he wanted to use the German Army along with the Allies to shove.....escort them back... East of Poland.....and said so.
Eisenhower went nuts. Churchill nearly fainted. He was dead two months later. Could have been either side. Could have been an accident but you are talking a bloke that had just gone from the Kasserine Pass debacle through the Battle of the Bulge, at the head of his 3rd Army mostly, and on into the heartland of Germany, with out a scratch.
      Just seems odd.

bit of a coincidence. I had a bad accident eating a polo mint once. Got stuck in my throat.
I have always set myself a very low standard, and constantly fail to achieve it.

The Us Army and he himself think that he killed a bloke in 1918 on the Meuse Argonne. He had some freshly minted American Tankers holed up in the thick of it in a trench and they would not break cover under fire. He threatened them and one still would not have it so he hit him in the swede with a shovel and he died. He openly admitted . "I may be guilty of murder".
He would have made a good Provost Sergeant in the Reg..... :0)
