I liked it. Me fust pay packet was two quid. 40 hours at a tanner an hour. No tax. I was below the taxman' reach. 15 year owd apprentice bricky. Whose main job was to absorb all the moaning carpin and groaning when I fooked the tea up. An English/Irish Bricky can spit tea fifteen feet.

Used to do it in Depot, then at a certain stage they made you get a Natwest account, and there was the post office savings account they made you take out in Juniors,£1 a month, cashed in when it reached 80 quid after a few years.

Brings back a few memories, we didn't have to buy mobile phones, Broadband or computers in them days. just pay your board and what was left was yours, and if you wanted to ring some tart up. pop down to the nearest phone box. Life was much simpler then !
