    Re: 100 years old

Yes checked out all those queries guys, and the place seems to be pretty good. They have regular visits from Doctors, hairdressers, and chiropodist etc, some like hairdressers require payment but that goes without saying. She was reluctant to go into care, but I think she now recognises that she,s not safe at home.

Give her a week gossiping with the other old biddies and she'll be telling you she doesn't know why she didn't make the move years ago!

        Re: 100 years old

Just looked at the photo of her again Bob, she looks to be a bright lady and she was brought up to take problems in their stride, I am sure she will settle and she has a devoted son to back her up. Next time you visit tell her I have written to her Madge Liz and asked for my 100 year card now, in case I do not make it to 100. Awaiting a reply

Think what's annoying her at the moment is, she doesn't understand that she is in 14 days isolation because of the Covid 19.

Very hard for the elderly in the present crisis Bob when this is an important time in their life to be able to see family and socialise with others. Hope all is well very soon.

Things don't seem hard for TLO's parents, both 80,who we've been shopping for every thursday for 3 months. The list is rung through on wednesday every week, and includes fillet or sirloin steak and rarely comes to less than £100,over £200 some weeks when drink is added. Talk about living high off the hog!

Age has its burdens Dave, because she's not able to notify people of her change of address etc its left to me. What you think would be a comparatively simple operation is a nightmare, everybody wants to place obstacles in your way, utility companies, government departments, the Bank. And because of the Covid 19 thing, call centres etc are not running a normal service.

Made the mistake of sending for 2 items (not expensive) on line, never arrived of course and I spend my days now chasing either the provider or the courier who have lost both items between them. normally like to pick stuff up and take a good look before I buy, cannot wait for the shops to open and forget 'on-line' shit

There's no point chasing the courier Ron. The delivery contract is between them and the sender, you're not a party to it.

Yes communication can be difficult at this time, but I think government websites could make the process of giving them information simpler. If you phone up they inform you to go to www.something or other. Which should direct you in some form to the subject you want, however this is not the case in many cases it's as clear as a cess pit. Not good for a simple request to inform them of change of address, yet all there paperwork require you to inform them immediately of any change of circumstance. It just seems to me that your penalised for attempting to do the right thing !

I have the tracker numbers and when I track it the items are 'with the courier and will be delivered in next 24 hours sorrty for delay' unfortunately I have had that same message every day since the 7th May. Just tried to give Hermes (the couriers) the tracking numbers to ask them if they can locate the items, that's when you go round in circles, supplier and courier passing you backwards and forwards to each other, no actual conversation just on line 'Frequently Asked Questions' pages. Will just call it another lesson learned!
