  • Sgt. Dave Ridsdale - 23 PFA

Hi Guys, I have just been notified by the Chairman of 23 PFA OCA (Maj. Bob Wickings) of the death last Tuesday of former Sgt.Dave Ridsdale in Guildford, there are no details yet of his service.
Some of you from 2 Para may remember Dave from Borneo, he saved Patch Williams life, while under heavy fire from the Indonesian Special Forces, his service with PFA and his ultimate professionalism in dealing with the severely injured, and saving many lives throughout his 22 year service with 16 Para Bde is known to many and his stories in combat are legendary, Dave was a PFA legend who rated alongside 2 other legends who I know a few of you old sweats will remember, ie ; Seamus Cunningham & Mick Hare.

    "REST IN ETERNAL PEACE DAVE".

Remember...that Prosperity...can only be for the free...and that freedom...is the sure possession..of those alone...who have the Courage to defend it.

                          Sadly Alan,
Neither John or Arthur are also no longer with us on this mortal earth, they both died approximately 15 years ago, but are always with us in spirit.

Thatīs a shock. Although I think that it was said on the 2 Para forum that Jock Frasier had passed on. He was a real laugh, tough as nails aswell. The short time I knew Arthur (Browns Square Police Station 72) we got on really well. Heīs been a sgt in the Dental Corps I believe. Last time I saw him was in the queue to get on the ferry in Newcastle (to Gothenburg) My first litter were about 2 and 4 (Robert is now 22 and Danny 20). He was living in Norway and doing -outward bound- type of work. He seemed a bit reserved and I didnīt get his address. That he has gone saddens me a lot. Such a genuine and mild guy....
