Taff, the Icon at left shows either a closed or open envelope - the open ones are the threads you have not yet read

I go to Quick Links at the top and then Todays Posts taff thats pretty quick as well. I notice you've found your favourite smiley.

Taff...also meant to say that when you first login and are on the main board on the left the Icon shows an empty speech bubble, if the background colour is blue then you have unread items in the sub board, if the background is grey then there are no new posts......hope that makes sense
