Just reading about Ned Kelly, the famous Aussie bushranger. One of 8 kids to an Irish couple. His dad died when he was 12. No schooling. no doubt as thick as pigshit, could barely put a sentence together, and yet they reckon his last words before he was hung were, 'Such is life.' I can't see it. It's a bit too poetic. I reckon his last words would have been more like, 'Fer feck sake.' or something like that.

Sounds a bit like you're confusing Intelligence and education Steve. He may not have been given the chance of an education in those days, but that does not mean he couldn't have been academic, we'll never know. He learned to survive from his intrinsic intelligence and common sense that we're all born with, e.g. he must've been a good planner/organiser to set up and run his criminal enterprise?Originally posted by stephenfrank new View PostJust reading about Ned Kelly, the famous Aussie bushranger.
