              Now Now Nick,going on the picture i have seen of you and "Kentish Lad" in your home town of Lockabie you have more patter than a thousand flip flops.
              God made Para's to give Marines someone to look up to and worship.

                  Oh fair goes Tug, I've looked at that photo again and it hasn't changed since the day it was taken.

                  Billy that LMG was the old 7.62 Bren Gun.

                    When was the pic taken and where? Had the buckles on your OGs gone missing Nick

                    Wonder when putees were taken off the offical uniform list. Where does Gil originate from?

                      Alan, Buckles just open nothing sus, we were in "C" Coy not mortars. Photo taken Trucial Oman 1961. They still had puttees when I left in 71 and Gil comes from Dundee.

                          The story behind things like pics are always interesting. Was this the time the reg was in Aden? Remember Jerry Davis telling us juniors about Aden and the fact that they had to get the order to fire from all the way back in the UK. By the time they got the go ahead the blighters had legged it by 8 hours or so.....

                          Was in Dundee about 10 years ago. The statues of Desperate Dan and co were great and what´s the name of the ship. We bought one of our vintage caravans just up the coast from there (Usnan). Was just wondering if Gil had some roots in Malta...
