Talking to the CO 3 Para in the Falklands,it came as a shock to hear they had so many in battalion awaiting their jumps course. The longest wait was currently 2 1/2 years!!!!!

Pat I can't believe what you are saying, what has happened to recruits doing the para course before being posted to a Battalion. I knew things were bad in the UK but Jesus Christ are they all going mad or what ????????????????????

Some of the lads have even done a tour in Afghan before they got their wings up.

It must be shit for the lads to join Battalion without getting their wings. It was something to look forward to, 4 cushy weeks with the R.A.F. with good grub, especially after doing advanced Brecon and "P" company, I really feel for them!

Seriously Archie???? 4 Weeks good grub....... The four weeks socializing with the WRAF, was it the "Spotlight" club (Brize) and the weekends off seem to be a little brighter a memory than the good grub!!
I just don't understand why they won't shut the hell up while I practice my people skills....

I remember doing an inspection of one of the WAAFS (Welsh bird) ground floor rooms, magic. The good grub was a bonus.
