Hi Gents, just Heard from Dave Rutter AEA, that Gurney Fisher, passed away this evening. information at the moment is a little scant but it is understood that Gurney, was taken to hospital where he was placed in an induced coma owing to blood clots on his lungs. It is understood that he was suffering from total organ failure. Having known Gurney for about 53 years this was devastating news, he was a true friend and Squadron character who will be sorely missed by all who knew him. My condolences to all members of his family. RIP mate,gone but not forgotten !

Very sad as Gurney was a cousin and we had been brought up together, we were the same age. His family will mourn his very sudden passing and he will be sadly missed. RIP Mick, you were a great friend and a credit to your Corps.For Allah created the English mad - the maddest of all mankind.

Apologies for absence Yesterday, Attended Gurney's funeral. pleased to see he had a good attendance. With a sea of red berets, a piper who played the lament (Flowers of the forest) very moving. Well done to all those in attendance he would have appreciated it !Bob (geordie) Watts
