  • REMEMBRANCE day

At the end of the First world war
    Mankind swore
That there would be no more war
But over the last hundred years
    There has been many tears
    As war came again
    Bringing heartache and pain
    The war in the forty's
    Turned naughty
    When Germany and Japan
    Fought hand in hand
    Korea then Malaya and Aden
There was hardly a year when
The government sent our lads and lasses
    To die on foreign grasses
    From Kabul to Bagdad
    The world has gone mad
    To kill and maime
    In some gods name
And thats why on a day in November
    We all stand and remember
    Those lads and lasses
    Who died on foreign grasses.
It's not the dog in the fight,it's the fight in the dog that matters.

          Lest We Forget

          When the war was over,
and the fighting had been done
The people that were left alive
          realised no one had won.
they said that we should learn from this
          and teach our children well
So they wouldn’t make the same mistakes
and live through the same hell
But instead of showing them what was lost,
they told them what was gained,
          they sang about the heroes,
but not the dead and maimed,
They let them watch the victory films
          and sing the victory song
Then they watched their sons march off to war
          and wondered what went wrong.

I have always set myself a very low standard, and constantly fail to achieve it.

About sums it up. WWI and WWII? Combined they are probably the biggest human travesty in the history of the world. Russians alone. Then we wonder why they are paranoid. We ought to be paranoid.
