Sent this to Grantland Rice but eee sent it back telling me ta "Fukk Off!"
"The Street" by Backyard Kipling.
A young boy in the 50,s
My playground was the street,
Bat & ball, wicket chalked on wall
Football at my feet.
No TV or Computer
In that far off day,
Dash home from school
Quick bite to eat,
Out in the street to play.
And when that dreaded time came
My Mum would call me in,
A good scrub down and off to bed
Too tired to make a din.
Quickly off to slumber
Head full of dreams so sweet,
Reliving days of sporting glory
While,st playing in the street. Boom Boom!
