Lot of hearsay went around at the time Tone, then Tomkins n Dempster wrote the book ta mek a few bob outa the whole sad affair. Like everything else, only those who were there know the true circumstances surrounding what actually happened.

When my Stepfather was in the prison service before he retired, he said Banks was serving time at The Nick he was at in Surrey. Reckons he was quiet, polite, and served his time giving no hassle to anybody and kept his own counsel. Bet there was a few of those lads who wish it had been the same for them !
