I was shocked to learn of the sudden death today of Paul Burns who died in hospital. Many of us will remember that Paul was wounded at Warren Point and served for many year after terrible injuries as an amputee working for the Red Devils Display Team and after leaving the Regiment worked tirelessly for BLESMA and other service charities. He was an inspiration to me and countless others. My thoughts and prayers are for his family and friends at this sad time. RiP Paul.

Re: Paul Burns ex-2 Para
Paul Burns, without doubt one of the most couragous, gutsiest & humble men I have ever known, a man who did more in his life than most able bodied people would dream of doing, the epitome of the British Paratrooper.
Pauls work for BLESMA was legendary & inspirational to those who were to have the same types of injuries since that fateful day in August 1979.
R.I.P. Paul, my sincere condolences to your family, the world in general but the Airborne family in particular have lost a good friend."Whilst drinking from the well, never forget those that dug the well"
