...aka Armynurse
For those of you that don't know, Lorraine is a club member and the wife of our member Fred Munday. Lorraine and Fred could, along with Smokey, Eric and Jock Love be regarded as founder members of the old FOC and therefore the club after taking over another group from 'the Twins'. My memory of the events/timeline is shaky, so I'll let Smokey tell the whole story if he wants to.
Lorraine and Fred looked after the 'Careline' we ran then, where members could call up with any problems. They were regular attenders at Fandance, but Fred and Lorraine had not been able to get to Brecon for the past few years as Fred could no longer drive the distance.
Lorraine was taken to hospital On Wednesday. She had not been well for over a year with blood problems and some mental health problems that they think are a result of her treatment whilst she was a prisoner of war of the Pakistan army in the 1971 INDO/PAK war.
Fred emailed today to tell me the very sad news that Lorraine had passed away. She was a lovely lady with a big heart. My deepest condolences to Fred and the family.
This is a picture of Lorraine holding the Daniel Slater shield. This was awarded to Fred and Lorraine for their exemplary service to the club.
